TRANSCENDENTAL HYMN-FANTASIES, VOL. I
John Hillebrandt’s “Transcendental Hymn-Fantasies” is a collection of twelve concert etudes (in two volumes) based on famous hymn melodies in the spirit of the great Romantic piano virtuosos like Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and others. These pieces transcend the original essence of the hymns, exploring new musical worlds in an extraordinary way. They have been described as brilliant, kaleidoscopic, and “opening new dimensions in the piano universe.”
